Backseat of a UFO

Stomach knotted up

Lungs constricted

Unsure of the perfection before me

The rest of the world fades away

Tunnel vision, eyes locked

Like a magnetic pull that I can’t break

My eyes were opened

The filter ripped off

Icy blue nebulas staring back at me

Suddenly I am drowning in outer space

A sparkling expanse engulfing me

Floating through a kaleidoscope

Of stars, planets, and cotton candy colors

Reaching for stars, floating particles

Anything I can latch onto

To avoid drifting from you

The pull is tugging, more forceful now

Threatening to rip me from my newfound love

I plant my feet and refuse

Your hand extends across the galaxies

Yanks me forward

Like a rocket ship launching into space

Defying the speed of light

Worlds have collided

I am ruined

I am yours
